Fulton County is the southern gateway to the Adirondack Mountains, where the Mohawk Valley meets the Adirondack Scenic Byway.

Whether you seek an active vacation or just want to relax – Fulton County offers the ideal vacation for both.  We’re only 40 minutes from Albany and 3 hours from the “Big Apple”, Montreal, and Boston – located in the foothills of the majestic Adirondack Mountains, truly a 4-Season destination.

Enjoy 44 lakes for your swimming, boating, canoeing or fishing pleasure.  Seven great courses make golf easily accessible.  Find mountains for hiking, trails for biking and woods for hunting.

Any time of the year, you can seek the numerous colonial landmarks and immerse yourself in Revolutionary War History.

Enjoy our art galleries, outdoor concerts in the park, or sit in the seats of two extraordinary historical theatres that have provided productions for many years.  The Colonial Little Theatre, Johnstown celebrated its 71st anniversary in 2008.  The Glove Theatre, a former vaudeville movie house, has been showing productions since 1914.

In the winter, ski cross country or down hill.  Snowmobile nearly 200 miles of groomed trails.

Love to fish? The largest Northern Pike was caught in one of Fulton County’s lakes.  The Great Sacandaga Lake owns bragging rights to a world record Northern Pike that weighed in at 46 pounds, 2 ounces.

Also in our 44 lakes, fish for Walleye, Bass, Trout, Perch, and Crappie.  Or take part in many of our popular fishing tournament sponsored by well-known sporting organizations.  If you don’t fish, watch the winning process.  See the number of fishermen and fish that they catch at the weigh-in stations during the fishing tournament.

Fulton County…the perfect place for your Adirondack Adventure!
